Default mp3 file from iweb on mac

    Hi ,

By using iWeb2 on mac , I "created" my files that I uploaded on my FTP account files on htdocs.

All the files are "clearly" uploaded (.css,.js,.png,.html,etc) so that my web site is "working" ( everything is ok with the colors , the text, the photos ,etc ...) except an mp3 file .

At the beginning I thought it was because of the size ( too big).
But as I reduced the size the problem remains and when I "read" the file which is on my htdocs file , here is the "text"... Obviously the "translation" between the file which is on my computer and the one I have after uploading in htdocs is not working for mp3 file .

Could someone explain me where does the problem comes from and how I could solve it ?

    Thanks .
    Lolo

    SO what ?

I'm trying to create a website on which I could upload some musical extracts I play with a friend . The mp3 files are files we recorded on studio .
You mean there are no free solution to host our website ?
If we want to create a website on wich we can upload mp3 files , we should pay ?
    Thanks .

You can add mp3 files as long as it's in the file size limit, I've tested and it's working. You are not allowed to host mp3 files that you don't have copyright on them.
Can you post a direct link to one of your files ?

First of all thanks for you answer.

Right ; I also tested with a 460 Go file and it works ; but with 1Mo file it doesn't work anymore .
Could someone inform me about the maximum size of an mp3 file ?

PS: what do you ( kaze) mean by " Can you post a direct link to one of your files "?

An example of a direct link is:
    http://yoursite.com/mp3file.mp3
The maximum file size for php upload is 2MB and for FTP upload is almost 4MB (3.99MB).

As I said, you can post a direct link here and I will check the link and see if you have any problems.

But as i wrote before I "created" using iweb ; it means iweb generates automatically all the files (.css,.html,etc ) I need to create my web page ; and when I insert an mp3 file inside a page i don't have to take care about how iweb manages to deal with the file .
So when I "save " my web page everything is "done" by iweb.
It means i don't know how to create a direct link from the web pages iweb created .
    Am i clear ?
    Thanks.
