Default Who Will Help me ? Joomla install can't acces sql database

    hi guys

I'm new at this forum so big hello to everyone !
I'm trying to install Joomla on byet.net server. I started free account so far and have uploaded installation joomla files via FTP. I'm doing it as you see:

    And my settings are:

Of course I also have tried to use 'localhost' but no success. Please, can you give me some advise what is wrong ? I use the newest version of Joomla.
Is it ok that I put the Joomla files not in:
    ftp ://ftp.byethost8.com/ but in:
    ftp ://ftp.byethost8.com/htdocs/ ??

And one more question: shouldn't I be able to see some login screen typing in browser address of sql database ? sql107.byethost8.com

    Your configuration seems entirely correct.
Try changing your password to the current one so that servers resynchronize. If it still doesn't work after a couple of minutes, I would open a support ticket.

No, those are SQL servers and are not running any HTTP servers you could log in to. You access your DBs via phpMyAdmin.

    Problem solved !!!

Byet gives WRONG sql path in administration panel. The correct one is:
    sql107.byetcluster.com

Next question maybe someone will know: should I also mark the FTP on YES during Joomla installation ? For now I marked NO. Do I miss anything marking NO ? I tried YES but it didn't work at all.

Scripts can't access FTP so it won't work.

    Thumbs up

Thank you very much for this thread! I was having similar problems uploading Joomla via the Web Browser Installation. After trying the manual installation I pretty much was ready to give up.

After searching through the forums and finding this topic, though, I was finally able to install Joomla! Thank you!
